Big-box Retailers Bet on Home Organization as the Next Big Category

Retailers are investing more in home organization products to meet the growing demand for home goods. Managing Partner Matt Katz was featured in “Big-box Retailers Bet on Home Organization as the Next Big Category” for Modern Retail article looking at recent home organization trends and how the pandemic has shifted consumer demands.

Matt explains how some big-box retailers are capitalizing on growing consumer demand for home goods, “Target always had a powerful private label component to its business. Why not extend that into home [organization]?”

He goes on to note how the pandemic has permanently shifted consumer demand for home products, “I think [home sales] growth continues. The psyche of the worker has changed. Even if things go back to normal, the prevailing thought is there will be some combination of work from office and work from home.”
