Matt Katz, Managing Partner and Head of Retail & Consumer Packaged Goods authored an article published in Retail Dive looking at the health, social, and economic impact of the pandemic on retail and why retailers can’t focus on getting shoppers back into stores until these concerns are solved.
He reflects on lessons learned throughout the various stages of the pandemic, “The challenge the economy faced – and is still facing – was how to function with unpredictable starts and stops, which may be different from those facing your neighbors a single zip code digit away.”
Matt also looks toward the future of the industry, “We likely won’t ever go back to exactly where we were before the pandemic – but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. The new models that remain will be led by agile thinkers and newly reskilled employees.”
