Challenge
A private equity-backed fire suppression business had acquired several competitors as part of an aggressive roll-up strategy, and three recent acquisitions were performing poorly. The company sought to understand the root cause of issues and identify key levers to incorporate into a roadmap to restore performance for each business.
Approach
After interviewing key personnel at all levels of the acquired businesses, the SSA & Company team performed voice of customer and competitor analysis, developed year-end performance forecasts for each business, identified levers to support organic growth and upside potential, and created a detailed roadmap for each business and for the corporate office to rejuvenate businesses. The team then reviewed output with leadership assigning each task to a business owner and provided a baseline to drive improvement moving forward.
