SSA & Company is an operations consulting firm that helps leading companies around the globe increase margins, grow revenues and improve working capital through improved business processes.  Founded as the “Six Sigma Academy” in 1994 by the progenitors of the Six Sigma revolution at Motorola, we taught companies like GE, Allied-Signal, Dow, and DuPont how to achieve a higher level of quality with substantially lower costs.

Through our client work across many different industries, we discovered that the basic framework and tools of Lean and Six Sigma had applicability well beyond manufacturing, and helped companies such as AXA, McGraw Hill, MetLife, Citizens Bank, and SUPERVALU integrate Lean Six Sigma into their operating practices. We also learned that the benefits of Lean Six Sigma go well beyond just improving cost and quality, developing the methodology into one of the most widely used and regarded management systems today – and providing CEOs with a clear operating lever across their organizations to support the execution of strategy.

Over time, we transformed Lean Six Sigma into something much more flexible and impactful for our clients.  As the nature of our work has expanded well outside the boundaries of traditional business process improvement training, we renamed our business SSA & Company. This name better represents how we leverage process improvement methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma more broadly to help our clients transform their business through smarter process.
